The Anglo-Ecuadorian Society

Founded in 1977 the Anglo-Ecuadorian Society is a non-political community organisation that aims to:

  • Promote close and friendly relations between Ecuador and the United Kingdom.
  • Advance British people’s knowledge of the culture and history of Ecuador and its intellectual, artistic, political, commercial, and economic life.
  • Undertake charitable activities for benefit of people in Ecuador – especially children and families in need or distress.

To do this the Society promotes exhibitions, meetings, conferences, lectures, and other activities.

We also aim to serve as a contact in the U.K. for anyone interested or with connections in both countries and to provide information, links and opportunities to network.

The Honorary President of the Society is H.E. The Ambassador of Ecuador in the UK. The Honorary Vice-President is Baroness Hooper.

The Society has a Committee that is elected annually at the AGM. The Committee is currently formed by:

Alex Cruz, David Horwell, Claudia Jara (Treasurer), Angela Keshishian, Jonathan Lea (Chair), Maria Mantilla, Moi Michan
